The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos (NOHIL), joined the global community in observing World Clubfoot Day on June 3, 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about clubfoot, a congenital condition affecting thousands of Nigerian children annually, and to advocate for early detection.
The Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos (Catholic Mission), His Grace, Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins, paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, Dr. Wakeel Lawal, to foster greater collaboration in addressing the spiritual and physical needs of the Hospital.
Following the demise of the Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos the Federal Government has appointed Dr. Wakeel Lawal as the acting medical director of the institution, effective Tuesday, 15th April, 2025.
Until his new appointment, Dr. Lawal served as the Head of Clinical Services.
The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos (NOHIL), held a grand matriculation ceremony on Thursday, 24th April 2025, to officially welcome a total of Three Hundred and Twenty-One (321) newly admitted students into its various academic programmes.
Following a verification exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Federal College of Orthopaedic Technology (FECOT) has received approval to commence a Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) programme in Prosthetics and Orthotics, in affiliation with the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
