• Staff Training on Medical Ethics & Negligence: How To Avoid Civil And Criminal Liabilities

    The Management of National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos organized a training programme themed “Medical Ethics & Negligence: How to avoid Civil and Criminal Liabilities” from Tuesday, 22nd – Wednesday,23rd September, 2020.

    One of the guest speakers, Dr. Yinka Olomojobi from Babcock University, Remo in Ogun State explained that medical negligence connotes a medical professional’s inability to meet the acceptable standard of care practiced by colleagues of similar professional calling. He therefore admonished participants to make patients their first priority as well as discharge their duties efficiently in order to avoid medical negligence and breach of duty of care.

    Speaking on Regulation of Medical Practice in Nigeria, Professor Imran Smith of University of Lagos urged health professionals to maintain personal integrity as well as protect the reputation of their employers and professional bodies so as to earn public confidence.
